This is the third week of our ‘Four Candles of Advent’ charitable donations in the lead up to Christmas.
The third candle of advent is the Joy Candle, otherwise known as the Shepherds Candle.
This week is one of our more tenuous links, but what brings more Joy to many of our lives than animals.
Despite the efforts of some of the larger charities it is still sad to hear that people often give pets as Christmas presents and some are not then kept once the novelty wears off, leading to animal rescue centres being inundated in the New Year.
That’s why we have chosen to make our third charitable gift of £500 to the Barnsley Animal Rescue Charity to represent the Shepherds Candle and the Joy animals can bring.
BARC do great work in looking after and re-homing of dogs, cats and rabbits that end up unwanted for any reason. For more about the great work they do, or if considering adopting a pet, please click here.
