Ryan Marsh is a native of Yorkshire, having been born, bred and educated there. Following successful completion of his Bachelor of Laws at Sheffield Hallam University in 2000 Ryan then went on to complete a postgraduate diploma in Legal Practice at Leeds Metropolitan University in 2001.
On qualifying in 2004, Ryan gained over 12 years valuable experience as a solicitor prior to joining MKB, including 9 years in private practice at local law firms and 3 years as a senior legal officer at Doncaster Council. Ryan has experience in all areas of Family law, but specialises in cases involving advocacy in care proceedings. It was this specialism which led him to join the Family Department at MKB Solicitors.
Ryan’s legal experience allows him to guide his clients through legal proceedings with assurance whilst retaining empathy with the clients’ circumstances. Children Act proceedings are emotive meaning that professionalism and experience are vital. It is therefore crucial that as well as knowing the law Ryan knows his clients, to build the trust required to deal with such significant proceedings.
Ryan’s years of experience have seen him involved in every aspect of Children Act proceedings and representing every party possible, from the Local Authority, the parents and the children themselves.
When not in work, Ryan’s young son and family life keeps him busy. He’s also something of a sports nut, following Sheffield Wednesday FC and still finding the time to participate in the occasional game of football himself. He’s also a keen boxing fan, enjoys going to the gym, and reading as much as possible when other commitments allow.
