Keith joined MKB in 2018 as a solicitor in the family/childcare department.
Keith specialises in all areas of family work with a particular interest in Public Law children proceedings and is an experienced member of the Law Society Children Panel. Panel accreditation means that Keith’s work is independently vetted by assessors and he has demonstrated an ongoing commitment to this challenging area of work and has kept up to date with practice development.
Keith has been a panel member since 2005 and regularly represents parents, children and/or other family members at all levels of the Family Court up to and including High Court level.
Wherever possible Keith undertakes his own Court advocacy thus reducing the need to instruct barristers in all but the most complex of cases.
Prior to joining MKB Keith qualified in 1992 as a solicitor competing his training contract and becoming a partner at a West Yorkshire law firm. in 2005 Keith moved to a leading specialist family law practice based in Wakefield and most recently worked in the Kirklees/Huddersfield area undertaking for the last 2 years exclusively work relating to Public Law (Care/Supervision Order) proceedings. Keith has a particular interest in advising in relation to Special Guardianship and the quality of connected carers’ assessments and particularly to ensure that any such family placement is properly supported by a robust support package.
Keith is a keen golfer and as the father of two teenage children is used to providing a dedicated taxi driving service. He has held a clean driving licence for the 36 years!
