Advice for Landlords:

When a tenant is not paying rent to the landlord, we can advise the landlord as to what they can do to obtain payment of the rent by preparing letters and documents on the landlord’s behalf.  In cases where the tenant is not maintaining the property pursuant to the terms of the lease then we can prepare letters/notices as appropriate to the tenant regarding those repairs.  When a tenant wants to leave the premises before the end of the term, we can advise the landlord of the tenant’s obligations and what letters/notices can be given to the tenant.

What you can do and the steps you can take:

  • When a tenant is not paying rent

Advice for Tenants:

If a tenant cannot afford to pay the rent we can advise as to what a landlord can or cannot do and what the landlord can do in this situation.  If a tenant wants to leave before the end of the case, we can assist in advising on what can be done.  In situations where the landlord will not agree to a tenant sub-letting the premises then we can advise a tenant on what steps he/she can take against the landlord.
